Request for Funds Guidelines And Application

Guidelines

  • Project(s) will generally be funded at no more than 50% of the total project costs.
  • Selected projects need to have defined purposes/objectives and a plan to attain them.
  • Multi-year funding for the same project is not likely.
  • Project(s), which benefit a maximum number of participants for the estimated cost will be given greater consideration.
  • Funding request are not available for personnel services (i.e. salaries, benefits)
  • Matching dollar projects are favorable.
  • If applicable, future funding plans need to be developed to illustrate continuation and stabilization of the project.
  • A condition for receiving an award from the Cortland Community Service Club, Inc. is the submission of a written “final report” describing how the funds were actually used, the results of the project (success/failure), and if applicable, information about the participants who benefited. An oral presentation to the club members may also be requested at one of its weekly meetings.
  • Mail request to either:

Internal CCS Club Guidelines for Funding Requests

  • Up to 50% of program
  • Money to solve (fix) a problem versus treating a symptom
  • Club not obligated to fund annually
  • Goal to surpass the annual giving of the other service clubs in Cortland
  • Most good for the greatest number
  • Funds not available for salaries, benefits, etc. (personnel services)
  • One time funding preferred over multi-year pledges
  • Focus on funding projects which will help youth not generally reached.
  • Funds will be within budget of club
  • Matching dollars favorable
  • Future funding plans developed for continuance of program

Who is The Cortland Community Service Club & What Do They Do?

Our Purpose: The purposes for which this corporation has been organized are as follows:

• To provide opportunities for members from the greater Cortland Community to meet and work together providing service to the greater Cortland Community.

• To raise and provide funds for selected greater Cortland Community needs with an emphasis on youth programs.

Expectations As A Member:

Dues

Annual membership dues should be paid by the first Monday of November of the current program year, or within the first 30 days of becoming a member.

Annual dues are $40.

Attendance

Attendance is encouraged, but not mandatory.Come when you can, programs are interesting and can be fun.

Volunteering

Most of our volunteering has centered around hosting the annual Corn-Ducky Derby.

Members are encouraged to step up to assist in completing many of the tasks involved.

Duck Tickets

Each member is issued a number of tickets of which they are highly encouraged to buy and/or sell.
